Music
Performance, improvisation, ensemble work, and the sound at the center of everything else.
Performance. Teaching. Craft.
A home for jazz, human expression, thoughtful teaching, and creative work built by hand.
Mopajazz is the artistic and professional home of Jamie’s work as a jazz musician, educator, and creative builder. It is rooted in performance and improvisation, but it also extends into teaching, design, and the making of interactive learning experiences. The throughline is simple: the work should feel alive, useful, and unmistakably human.
Performance, improvisation, ensemble work, and the sound at the center of everything else.
A statement of artistic values: feel first, craft with intention, and reject sterile perfection.
A philosophy of jazz learning built around listening, creativity, and practical musicianship.
Interactive tools, educational experiments, and ongoing work that connects music and design.
Machines chase perfection. Mopajazz chases something better: human truth.
Right now, the work is moving in three directions at once: deepening the musical voice, refining jazz teaching ideas into clearer frameworks, and building interactive concepts that make theory and improvisation more tangible. That includes the larger Jazz Interactive initiative, but also smaller experiments that ask a simple question: how can a learning experience feel as alive as the music it is trying to teach?
Not everything fits neatly into a résumé, a faculty bio, or a project deck. Mopajazz gives the work a place with a point of view. It makes room for music, thought, teaching, and making to belong to the same body of work instead of being split apart into categories that never quite tell the full story.
Mopajazz is available for performance, workshops, speaking, collaboration, and creative educational work.
